Cool” can mean several different things. It could refer to the temperature in Geneva during the 2011 show.
The temperament of the Swiss people, too. But to most people, it simply means “awesome.” And cool can
lso take several different shapes, as you’ll see below. The 10 cars listed here were the best, the wildest,
the most jaw-dropping, and, yes, the coolest at this year’s show. Enjoy.

Outkast’s Andre 3000 once asked, “What’s cooler than being cool?” Ice cold, of course. Piled around Saab’s
Geneva stand were blocks of ice, melting away under the lights. What does that have to do with anything, you
ask? The Scandinavian brand loves it some all-wheel drive these days, and the solid water made a good
backdrop for the poignantly named PhoeniX concept. It previews a new front-end design for Saab as well
as a new all-wheel-drive system dubbed eXWD, which uses an electric motor to turn the rear wheels when
extra traction is needed. We’re still unsure of the purpose of the car’s carry handles.
